Brief Description of Research Interest :
At the University of California, Davis, I am developing unique homogeneous inorganic catalysts for the production of hydrogen gas and conversion of carbon dioxide into useful chemicals and fuels. Using various spectroscopic and electrochemical techniques, I have investigated the complex mechanism and determined intermediates relevant to the design and synthesis of suitable catalysts in aqueous solutions with minimal competing reactions.
While studying for my Ph.D. at Johns Hopkins University, I performed a mechanistic study on the electron transfer processes between excited states of coordination compounds and metal oxide thin films or iodide in solution using spectroscopic techniques. I used several computational methods for data analysis and simulated the mechanism of these multistep reactions, gaining kinetic and thermodynamic information about each step.
I have recently moved to industry and started a new career at Clorox Company as an oxidation scientist in professional product division working on the development of new health care products.
